Disclaimer

This blog series contains brief, independently written study reflections inspired by themes discussed in Idols Riot! It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a replacement for the book, its authors, publishers, or official study materials. Participants are encouraged to purchase and read the original book for the complete teaching and context.

The official Idols Riot Intensive Healing School Student Manual organizes the teaching into eight study modules. KDMG weekly book study follows those eight themes, with each week offering an original synopsis designed to encourage prayer, reflection, spiritual growth, and meaningful group discussion. The official Idols Riot Intensive Healing School Student Manual is available for download from Dr. Francis Myles’ ministry website: https://francismyles.com/download/IdolsRiot-StudentManual.pdf

Week 6: Closing the Door and Keeping It Closed

Synopsis

Dr. Francis Myles continues the Courts of Heaven framework by focusing on what the authors call evil altars and the spiritual agreements that sustain them. His teaching emphasizes repentance as essential to confronting those influences. The official study also stresses that some struggles are difficult to overcome in isolation and points to the importance of accountability with other believers who share the desire for spiritual freedom (Francis Myles International).

That principle has a deeply practical application for our walk with Christ. We were never designed to fight every battle alone. God often uses trustworthy sisters and brothers, pastors, mentors, prayer partners, and mature believers to help us remain encouraged and accountable. There is strength in bringing darkness into the light with safe people who will pray with us, speak truth to us, and lovingly remind us of the commitments we have made before God.

Myles also warns within the authors' framework that old spiritual patterns may attempt to become established again. For our devotional journey, this is a reminder that freedom must be guarded. We cannot continually return to the environments, relationships, thought patterns, or compromises that once kept us bound and expect nothing to happen. Healing needs boundaries. Freedom needs obedience. And the doors God helps us close should remain closed as we continue growing in His truth.

Key Scripture: John 14:30

Reflection Question: What door has God helped me close that I need to stop revisiting, and who can help me remain accountable in protecting that freedom?

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for every place where You have already brought freedom into my life. Give me wisdom to protect what You have restored. Help me recognize old doors before I reopen them, and surround me with godly people who will encourage me to remain faithful, prayerful, and surrendered to You. Amen.
