Week 3: The Law of Dominion

Synopsis

Week three introduces the author’s teaching on spiritual authority, human responsibility, and the “law of dominion.” Drawing from the creation account, the study emphasizes that God entrusted humanity with responsibility for the earth. The author connect this responsibility to the influence of spiritual agreements, choices, worship, and prayer.

The study also introduces the concept of an altar as a place of spiritual exchange. According to Dr. Myles-- altars may be righteous, representing worship, covenant, obedience, and dedication to God. Or altars maybe evil, representing sinful agreements and influences that oppose God’s purposes.

One of the chapter’s important practical principles is that removing an unhealthy pattern is not enough; it must be replaced with something righteous. A destructive habit should be replaced with Godly discipline. Fear should be replaced with trust. Bitterness should be replaced with forgiveness. Misplaced worship should be replaced with wholehearted devotion to Christ.

Readers are encouraged to consider how their repeated choices create patterns within their homes, relationships, and families. Through repentance, prayer, obedience, and renewed worship, believers can begin establishing patterns that honor God and bless future generations.

Key Scripture: Genesis 1:26–28

Reflection Question: What unhealthy spiritual or behavioral pattern must I not only remove, but replace with a Godly practice?

Prayer: Father, teach me to use the authority and responsibility You have given me in a way that honors You. Help me tear down ungodly patterns and establish a life of prayer, obedience, and worship. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
